Goodreads Description:
At the conclusion of The Mark of Athena, Annabeth and Percy tumble into a pit leading straight to the Underworld. The other five demigods have to put aside their grief and follow Percy’s instructions to find the mortal side of the Doors of Death. If they can fight their way through the Gaea’s forces, and Percy and Annabeth can survive the House of Hades, then the Seven will be able to seal the Doors both sides and prevent the giants from raising Gaea. But, Leo wonders, if the Doors are sealed, how will Percy and Annabeth be able to escape?

They have no choice. If the demigods don’t succeed, Gaea’s armies will never die. They have no time. In about a month, the Romans will march on Camp Half-Blood. The stakes are higher than ever in this adventure that dives into the depths of Tartarus.

My Review:
Oh My Gods (as they say in the novel), this book is so brilliant! I am and always will be a massive fan of Rick Riordan and this penultimate book did not disappoint! it is great to see the characters come into their own and begin to accept their godly blood linage, therefore developing the full extent of their powers. This book captivates your imagination and the twists and turns have you sitting on the edge of your seat. Rick has once again added the perfect amount of humor to go along with the seriousness of some of the plots, what other book do you get the hero fighting off monsters and gods with ham and muffins? I pretty much loved everything about this book, and i don't want to reveal too much detail of the plot in my review as it will ruin the twists for you! I really can't find anything to fault! well other than having to wait for autumn 2014 for the next book!! that is like 100,000,000 years for a book lover! It will be sad to see the series end next year, but i bet it will end it true Riordan spectacular style! and i thought the battle of Manhattan was hard for our hero's to fight! i have heard rumors however of a Norse Mythology series to follow on from the Heroes of Olympus beginning in 2015. Now that is something to look forward to!

Quotes:
Ok i have to put this in as it is pretty much the best dedication i have ever read in a book!
 To my wonderful readers:
Sorry about that last cliff-hanger.
Well, no, not really. HAHAHAHA.
But seriously, I love you guys.
See what i mean, Brilliant! Now on to the real Quotes! (I try to find some without too many spoilers, so they are not the best ones i could have picked. plus there were so many to choose from!!)
“Annabeth pressed her lips to Percy’s ear. “I love you.”
She wasn’t sure he could hear her—but if they died, she wanted those to be her last words.”
“She held up her calloused, grimy fingers. Leo couldn't help thinking there was nothing hotter than a girl who didn't mind getting her hands dirty. But of course, that was just a general comment. Didn't apply to Calypso. Obviously.”
“But magic is neither good nor evil. It is a tool, like a knife. Is a knife evil? Only if the wielder is evil.”
“Tell the sun and stars hello for me.”
